Verse

Malachi 3:17- And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

July 2010 "Friends- with God and Each other"

Despite summer vacations and trips, we had a successful turnout for our July Jewels meeting! Mrs. Blanche Frasier began our meeting with her testimony of salvation followed by an encouraging devotional delivered by Ms. Margaret Stringer. We were challenged as a group of ladies to be friends with each other. In ‘being a friend’ we need to remember that …
    1. God is a friend to everyone! He was friends with Judas, Moses, Abraham and even to his enemies.
      1. EX. 33:11 “And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.
      1. James 2:23 “And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God.”
      2. Matt 11:19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.
    1. Today, God is a friend to both sinners and Christians.
      1. John 15:14 “Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
    1. Job is a prime Biblical example of a “true friend”.
      1. Job 19:14 “…..my familiar friends have forgotten me.”
      2. Job 42:10 “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends.”
    1. To have a friend, you must be a friend.
      1. Prov. 18:24 “A man that hath friends, must show himself friendly.”
      2. Job 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
      3. Prov. 17:17 “A friend loveth at all times.”

Thank you to Sandy and Mandy Williamson for providing the tasty refreshments! To end the evening, Mrs. Karen Haley instructed us on how to decorate cards for friends by using tea bag folding! We hope to see more ladies on August 6th for another great time of fellowship!
